Patrick R. Sabelhaus Trade & Academic Scholarship
The Patrick R. Sabelhaus Trade & Academic Scholarship for affordable housing residents in California.
Patrick R. Sabelhaus was a dedicated legal practitioner in Sacramento, specializing in state and federal low-income housing tax credit law, tax-exempt bond financing, real property law, and syndication. His work profoundly impacted both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
In 1987, Patrick secured one of California’s first low-income housing tax credit allocations, leading to a career where he represented 375 Tax Credit projects and helped develop 25,000 low-income housing units across California, Nevada, and New Mexico. Patrick was not only a pioneer in affordable housing but a visionary whose passion inspired change.
LifeSTEPS is honored to continue his legacy through the Patrick R. Sabelhaus Fund, providing scholarships to residents of affordable housing communities for accredited universities, vocational, and trade schools. 100% of the funds are allocated directly to the educational institutions, ensuring a lasting impact.
