LifeSTEPS team walks for children’s literacy

This past Saturday, LifeSTEPS corporate and regional staff had a blast at the 8th Annual Walk4Literacy in Sacramento.  LifeSTEPS is proud to raise funds and awareness for children’s literacy to help all of Sacramento’s children achieve grade-level reading.

Beth Southorn collaborates with partners at CCRC annual meeting

Our Executive Director Beth Southorn recently attended the Los Angeles for the California Community Reinvestment Corporation’s (CCRC) annual meeting. At the event, Beth had the opportunity to meet with CCRC Executive Director Mary Kaiser, LifeSTEPS Board member Lisa Guiterez, and CCRC team members.

CCRC is California’s premier multifamily affordable housing lender specializing in programs for families, seniors, citizens with special needs and mixed-use developments. Connecting with our partners and working together ensures that we are making real change to address California’s affordable housing crisis and improve outcomes for residents of affordable housing.

Beth Southorn attends CHC 2022 Policy Forum & California Housing Hall of Fame Awards

LifeSTEPS’ Executive Director Beth Southorn attended the California Housing Consortium 2022 Policy Forum and California Housing Hall of Fame Awards in Los Angeles.

“It is very inspiring to listen to California Speaker of the House Anthony Rendon discuss the importance of AB2011’s victory and how it will propel the California housing crisis into forward momentum,” said Beth.

LifeSTEPS’ Board Member Lisa Guiterez also presented with Cedric Bobo, creator of Project Destined. Cedric’s nonprofit teaches residents of affordable housing the skills needed to build a career in the resident service industry.
